Permanent Campus

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) started its journey in March 2012 with a vision and dream of becoming a center of excellence in higher education in Bangladesh. To produce skilled human resources who will lead the development of Bangladesh in particular mainly RMG industry as well Textiles and gradually in all other fields to get the recognition of international repute.

From the day One we have been working relentlessly for materializing the dream with laying down the foundation to the permanent campus of BUFT at Dhaur, adjacent to Uttara, in Dhaka on the bank of river Turag. For the Board of Trustees the mission was not just build a mere concrete structure but to create a state of art modern sustainable green designer building that fulfills desires, hopes and dreams of many students that will pass through this center of excellence.

PERMANENT CAMPUS

The permanent campus is built on a 1.66 acres of land, acquired from University’s own funding, approved by RAJUK on 11 November 2012. The construction work started on 17 February 2013. The 10-storied new state-of-the-art academic building have a total 400,000 square feet space. The academic activities of the university at permanent campus have started on March 02 of 2018. The building consists of a state of art library, auditorium, modern class rooms. Along with all there is a swimming pool, gymnasium for the faculties and students, tennis courts, cafeteria and many more. There is also a 10-room guest house on the roof top of the building to accommodate foreign visiting dignitaries and faculties of our visiting affiliated University faculties.

An international standard University requires huge financial and materials resources. Given the limited resources we have as a new University BoT is trying its best to maximize procurement in respect of land, equipments and materials. Land is extremely expensive and hard to get by but due our endeavor we have bought more land for the University for it's future expansion. Total University land is now is 5 acres.
